1. كُفَّ العتابَ وكن عليَّ شهيدا

    إذ بتُّ فيك الهائم المعمودا

    Spare me your reproach, and be my witness

    As I pine for you, lovelorn and submerged

  2. سَقياً لقلبٍ بات فيك مقلَّباً

    شوقاً وبات فؤاده مفؤودا

    Quenching a heart that in you is restless

    Yearning, its passions stoked and urged

  3. ظبيٌ غرامي فيه غير مذمَّمٍ

    مذ بات فيه ممدَّحاً محمودا

    A lovelorn gazelle, flawless and precious

    Since in you it saw praise, lauded and merged

  4. أضحى بموقف حسنه في عصره

    ما بين أرباب الجمال عميدا

    Your fair character, in its age so wondrous

    Is the chief of beauty, all have concurred

  5. تمت محاسنُ خَلقِهِ في خُلقِهِ

    يتباريان سعادةً وسعودا

    Your sublime nature matches your manners

    Both competing in joy and fortune converged

  6. باللَه عبد اللَه كن متأيداً

    فاللَه يؤتي عبده التأييدا

    By God, Abdullah, be aided and bolstered

    For God grants his servant aid as deserved

  7. إذ كنتَ يا دُرّاً بأصداف المُنى

    تُلقِي إلينا اللؤلؤ المنضودا

    You who from the oyster of sorrow did proffer

    Glistening pearls, perfectly formed and curved

  8. من بحر علمٍ زاخرٍ بفضائلٍ

    كن يا ابن زاخر في الأنام فريدا

    From a sea of knowledge, rich in virtues

    Among people unique, peerless, reserved

  9. جاءتك من إنعام ربك نعمةٌ

    عَقدت عليك كتائباً وبنودا

    You were granted a blessing from your Lord

    Garlands and necklaces for you reserved

  10. صاغت لكم آلاؤها من ربِّكم

    دون الأنام قلائداً وعقودا

    His favors for you wrought such jeweled works

    None among men has their equal deserved

  11. طبعٌ كماء المزن يصفو رقّةً

    عن عزم ضرغامٍ يصيد الصيدا

    A nature pure like softened Muzn water

    With resolve to hunt prey, nothing swerved

  12. سام السمُوَّ بجده وجدوده

    أكرم به جدّاً سما وجدودا

    Elevated by his zeal and his ancestors

    Each ennobled by the honor preserved

  13. وأتى ببرهان النظام مُقلَّداً

    فيه ترى البرهان والتقليدا

    Bearing the proof of order, respected

    Where both proof and tradition are observed

  14. وأمانةٍ بَيعيَّةٍ روميةٍ

    تذر القريبَ من الضلال بعيدا

    With honest Roman stewardship

    Keeping those astray from missteps swerved

  15. يا ابن الأكارم كابراً عن كابر

    أنت المفدَّى طارفاً وتليدا

    Oh son of great souls, unbowed by the great

    You are the one ransomed, refined, and nerved

  16. خذها إليك فدتك لُبنانيةً

    جاءت وكان مديحك المقصودا

    Take these words from me, your ransom, Lebanese

    I came when praising you was my purpose deserved
