إليك أضرع في مدحٍ خُصصتِ به

فأبهجي صوتَ مطريك بإصغاءِ

To you I plead in praise I dedicated

So make joyful the sound of your rain by listening

إني أناديك من قلبٍ به ألمٌ

من العلى فاسمعي ثم ارحمي دائي

I call upon you from a pained heart

From above so listen and then have mercy on my pain

أي آثمين اَقبِلُوا بالذل واحتضنوا

إقدام مريم ثم امضوا على رائي

Oh sinners come with humility and embrace

The steps of Mary then go on my opinion

إن شئتمُ أن يصيب القلبُ أَنعُمَها

إيتوا إليها بإكرامٍ وتقواء

If you want the heart to attain its delights

Come to her with respect and piety

إيتوا إليها وأنتم في شدائكم

يُضيكُم نورُها في جنح ظلماء

Come to her while you are in your adversities

Her light straits you in the wings of darkness

إنّا نجونا به من كيد مبغضِنا

ذاك المريدُ ابتلاعَ النفس بالداء

We were saved by it from the plots of our haters

That disciple, swallowing the soul with illness

احفظ وصايا العلي مع أمر ابنتِه

إن كنتَ مولودَه بالروح والماء

Keep the commandments of the Most High with the order of His daughter

If you were born of her in spirit and water

افتح فؤادَك وابحث عن مواهبها

واذكر بصوتٍ رخيمٍ مجدَ عذراء

Open your heart and search for her gifts

And mention with a soft voice the glory of the Virgin

إن كنتَ يا قلب قلبي فاتقد شغفاً

في حبها إنها تغتال أعدائي

If you, oh heart, are my heart then ignite passion

In loving her, she takes down my enemies

أزالت الحزنَ حقّاً عن ضمائرنا

وأبهجت لُبَّنا في لينها الرائي

She truly took away the sadness from our consciences

And made joyful our hearts with her gentle sight

اُسجد وعظِّم لمن بالحسن أبدعها

في حي منزلها السامي بأسماء

Bow down and exalt the One who created her in beauty

In the sublime place of her dwelling with names

إنّا نجونا بها من موت منتقمٍ

أعني به داء طاعونٍ وأوباء

We were saved by her from the death of an avenger

Namely the illness of plague and epidemics
