أهل الفنى يتمسكون حقيقةً

بثلاثةٍ كثلاثة الأرباب

The people of luxury cling truly

To three like the three masters -

كبرٌ وحبُّ غنىً كذاك وشهوةٌ

يا ويلهم من مالك الأرقاب

Pride, love of wealth, and lust,

Woe to them from the Lord of necks!
