إني ودينك يا من جاد بالبعث
يحثني المدح فيكم أيما حث
O you who gave life through the Resurrection,
your religion and I urge me to praise you greatly.
أنت المسيح الذي قد صار مندفناً
مضرجاً بالدما في منقع الجدث
You are the Messiah who was once buried,
stained with blood in the pool of decay.
وقام في ثالث الأيام منبعثاً
والموت مندفن السلطان بالجث
And on the third day you rose resurrected,
while death itself was buried by the grave.
جبريل أضحى بثوب النصر متزراً
يذيع مذ قمت ذاك البعث بالبث
Gabriel was girded with the robes of victory
proclaiming your rising through this mission.
من بعده صوت ميخائيل يطربني
وقد أتى واعدي بالملك والإرث
After him, the voice of Michael delights me,
bringing good tidings of the kingdom and inheritance.
يبشران بأن يسوع قام وما
رأى فساداً وهذا موضع المكث
They herald that Jesus has risen and saw
no corruption, this is the place of rest.
فيه اكفهرت وجوه الكافرين وقد
أفناهم البعث حيث انبث بالنث
The faces of the unbelievers darkened when
the Resurrection destroyed them with dispersion.
للمؤمنين وجوهٌ زانها فرحٌ
والحاسدون بلوا بالجث والغث
While the faces of the faithful were adorned with joy
as the envious experienced ruin and misery.
لأن يومك سر المؤمنين كما
ساء الألى كفروا من غير ما بحث
For your day brings joy to the faithful
yet grieved the misguided without search.
أضحت بروقك تزهو وهي لامعة
إذ ترجم المارد المشهور بالنكث
Your lightning bolts shine radiantly
when you cast out the notorious rebel.
يزجه منك شهبٌ عنك تدفعه
سحقاً لناكر حق الله بالخبث
You repel him with meteors coming from you,
damned be he who denies God’s right through wickedness.
قل ليس تدنو العدا من ربع مقبرةٍ
أنى يجوز اجتماع القدس والطمث
Say, no enemies can come near a tomb,
how can the sacred and the impure gather?
يا ناقضاً حبل عهد اللَه عن سفهٍ
أنى تشين جديد العهد بالرث
O you who foolishly broke God’s covenant,
how do you defile the new covenant with rot?
يا عصبةً قد بغت واللَه أهملها
وهي اليهود فكم ترضون باللبث
O party who rebelled as God forsook them,
the Jews, how long will you remain in languish?
هذا الإله الذي بالصلب أنقذكم
أسقيتموه مياه الصبر والغث
This God who saved you through the crucifixion,
you gave Him water of sorrow and misery.
خاضوا غمار المنايا وهي كالِحَةٌ
كأنما الموتُ فيها طالب الإرث
They traversed the depths of death that was tumultuous,
as if death in it was seeking inheritance.
من كل شاكٍ غدا سكرانَ من دمه
يميس جذلان تحت البيض بالمكث
From every doubter they became drunk on his blood,
crawling about under the white tents in refuge.
أفناهم اللَه في بحرٍ لأجلكم
به سلكتم سلوك الخود في الوعث
God destroyed them in a sea for your sake,
through which you walked like plovers in the marshland.
إذ صانكم ثم في الصحراء طوَّفكم
وكف عنكم أذى الآفات والدعث
He protected you then in the desert encircled you,
and protected you from the harm of insects and fatigue.
أظلكم بغمامٍ كان يحفظكم
وقت الهجير وكف الريح بالربث
He shaded you with clouds that guarded you
during exile, and held back the winds from gusting.
يضيكم بعمود النور في غسقٍ
إذ حندس الليل كث اللون في كث
He guided you with pillars of light in the darkness,
as the heavily shadowed night gathered in clusters.
وفل أعداءكم من حوالكم سرباً
وزان أسيافكم بالسل والمث
He made your enemies flee around you like a flock,
and empowered your swords with sharpness and strength.
ثم امتلكتم لهم أرضاً وملكهم
به وملكتموه مربع الجدث
Then you conquered their land and their kingdom through Him,
and possessed it, broadening the realm of your territory.
هذا جزاء الذي أدى مؤنتكم
نفساً وجسماً بأكل المن والشث
This is the reward of He who bore your tribulation,
in body and soul, by providing manna and quails.
اللَه اللَه صنا من ضلالتهم
بمريمٍ إنها الإرشاد في البعث
O God, O God, protect us from their misguidance
through Mary, for she is guidance in the Resurrection.
يسرها أن ترى أولادها أبداً
كالزهر يبدو وحسن النبت بالأث
She is gladdened to see her children forever
appear like flowers, beautiful of growth andfresh.
يقضون أيامهم في حرث خدمتها
والأرض تنمي ثمار البر بالحرث
They spend their days in the service of tilling her land,
as the earth yields the fruits of righteousness through labor.
سقاكم اللَه من تيار نعمتها
وبلاً سجالاً وأغناكم عن الدث
God quenched you with the rivers of her blessings,
and enriched you, beyond need for gleaning.
دعوا العدو الذي عنها يفندكم
إذ ليس يقنع رب الود باللث
Leave aside the enemy who turns you from her,
for the Lord of Love is not content with fragments.
