أذوب إذا رأيت يسوع يوماً
يدانُ كمجرمٍ بين الرجالِ
I melt when I see Jesus one day
His hands like a criminal among men
وأغرب منه عبدٌ حَدَّ موتاً
على رب الأسافل والأعالي
And stranger than Him a servant who was sentenced to death
Upon the Lord of the lowest and highest
يتوِّج رأسَه إكليلُ شوكٍ
أسنَّتُه أحدُّ من النبال
A crown of thorns adorns His head
His teeth sharper than arrows
وجاد بنفسه كرماً وجوداً
وأين الجود من هذا النوال
He gave Himself generously and with nobility
Where is this generosity from that reward
ومدَّ على الصليب بكل شوقٍ
يميناً لا تطول إلى الشمال
He stretched His hands eagerly on the cross
A right hand that does not extend to the left
ونكَّس رأسه المرفوع طوعاً
لأمر أبيه عن أهل الضلال
He bowed His exalted head willingly
To the command of His Father from the misguided people
وسلَّم قلبه وحشاه نهباً
وسلْباً للصوارم والعوالي
He surrendered His heart and left it prey
To the swords and fortresses
أيا شمس ارجعي رَجعاً سريعاً
لقد غلبت عليك يد الليالي
Oh sun, turn back quickly
The nights have overcome you
ويا أرض احذري حيث الأناسي
لأن العدل دِينَ من المحال
Oh earth, beware where there are people
For justice is an impossible religion
ويا موسى كليم اللَه جدِّد
أساطيرَ الشريعة بالسؤال
Oh Moses, God's speaker, renew
The myths of the law with questions
ويا هارون خبِّر عن أناسٍ
رأوا كفر الجميل من الجمال
Oh Aaron, report about people
Who saw the infidelity of beauty from beauty
ويا حزب النبيين استعدوا
فراراً من بني ذات النكال
Oh the party of the prophets, get ready
To flee from the people of evil
ويا حزب اليمين اثبُت يميناً
ولا تسقُط سقوط بني الشمال
Oh the party of the right, stand firm
And do not fall like the fall of the left
ويا أرباب دين الكفر ضمُّوا
إليكم من بهم كُفرُ الفعال
Oh the owners of the religion of blasphemy, include
Those who blaspheme deeds
ويا نار الجحيم قِدِي وزيدي
على حزب اليهود ولن تَزالي
Oh fire of hell, heat up and increase
Upon the party of Jews, and you will not stop
ويا جوق الملائك لا تخافوا
على قلب الإله فغير بال
Oh choirs of angels, do not fear
For the heart of God, for He does not care
محبة آدمٍ وبنيه صارت
له قلباً حوى دَرَج المعالي
The love of Adam and his children has become
A heart that contained the highest values
تناول آدمٌ وبنوه منه
ثمار الفوز من شجر الكمال
Adam and his children took from Him
The fruits of success from the tree of perfection
فأُلِّهَ ثم قُدِّس ثم أُحيِي
كما قد مات من ثمر المُحال
He was deified, then sanctified, then revived
As He died from the fruits of the impossible
ألا يا حُبُّ قد أَنَّست ربّاً
وألَّهتَ التراب ولن تبالي
Oh love, you have familiarized the Lord
And deified the dust and you do not care
فدع قلبي يذوب وأَسقِ ريّاً
بماء نِصالك الحسنى نصالي
Let my heart melt and water me
With your good spears, my spears
فيَسبِكَ ذوبُه قلباً جديداً
ويزهو بماء رونقكم جمالي
So that its melting makes me a new heart
And flourish with the water of your beauty, my beauty
