O spirit of our great Yusuf
Hover over the people's presence
And with the wings of majesty
Inspire my weak utterance
With the eloquence of mighty tongues
That I may barely meet
His rightful due of praise
O holder of momentous fate
You were congratulated for momentous mention
This is your example of sincerity
Told in hearts
Told only with attributes
Of honesty and pure nature
The painter despaired of depicting them
So they remain in the folds of the soul
Is this your pleasure, Abu Najib
With grief over the battlefields?
This day he made them forget
Their pains in profuse delight
You accustomed them to see you
In the evening and at dawn
You stood watching over them
As you did in the dire times
Fear no rain this day
Nor storms' fierce squalls
How much have you heard from my poems
About the great one and my songs
Great poetry shakes you
Said about the great man
And today for you my tune rings
Hear it from atop the ether
If I compose, then I'm a poet
Who tells the truth from emotions
No desire for verse incited me
Nor love of fame
Tell those who envied me
And denied my merit and good
If my silence deceived you
My roar shall ambush you
O enduring monument
What a difference between your magnificent present
And trivial past
You were once but stones
Now the pride of eras
