I pass by the graves, yearning
And longing for him who lies in the dust
I say as I stand by it, my tears
Sprinkling pearls upon his earth
And around me the stillness of death whispers
To my heart reverence and turmoil
Peace be upon you, lying in your grave
Shaded by its awe, veils
Elias, did you forget us
And not mention your family and friends?
You were not one, my beloved
To prolong your absence from those who love you
If only you could see your home as it has become
Clothed in sorrows, mists
Confusion roams among throngs
Who lost the right path at your death
Your mother beats her cheeks in bereavement
And calls out to Elias but no answer comes
And your grieving father, lost
Has become like a child, wailing
And your dear siblings are confused
By your matter, their words make no sense
Your family and friends, their tears
Flow, pouring out their souls
Oh! How hearts yearn for the departed
At whose death, gentle hearts melted
Oh! How knowledge yearns for the martyr
Who perished loving its students
My friend, by God I'll not forget
My life through, your torment
Nor will I forget our sessions
Where we spent our youth
Whenever a crescent shines on the horizon
It reminds me of your crescent, gone
And if the breeze shakes a moist branch
I recall your moist branch, snapped
So sleep, my companion, sleep reassured
Until God gathers all comrades
Fear not the clouds holding back rain one day
If its water refuses to pour
For I have watered your grave with my eyes
With enough for eternity's clouds
