A maiden with sweet dimples I found
In a spot made for lovers to gather around
I thrust my sword hilt-deep into her face
With my heart a-flutter in passionate embrace
She fell like a stricken doe pierced by the lead
Of an archer in hurry with violence misled
Grief for her shall slay me in time, I fear
Alas, what use is there in wasting my tears
