1. حَبِيبي مُقيمٌ على نائِهِ

    وقَلْبي مُقيمٌ على رائِهِ

    My beloved remains intent on blaming me,

    While my heart remains intent on adoring him.

  2. حَنَانَيْكَ يا أَمَلي دَعوةً

    لِمَنْ صارَ رَحْمَةَ أعدائِهِ

    Your tenderness, my hope, is an invitation

    To one who has made mercy upon his enemies.

  3. سَأصْبِرُ عَنْكَ وأَعصي الهَوَى

    إذا صَبَرَ الحوتُ عن مائِهِ

    I will be patient without you and resist desire's call

    If the whale can be patient without the water it yearns for.
