O you who ask the storytellers of my tribe

About an undaunted knight, valiant and brave,

Ask who with the heights of my glory has become familiar,

Or who with my noble and lofty ambition competes,

Each will tell you about the valor of Majid,

Bearer of bright sword, intrepid and bold,

Who charges them every barren year,

And attacks them each gloomy day,

Who meets the warriors with a raging chest,

Neither weak, nor cowardly, nor retreating,

Who unsheathes the bright, splendid sword,

Gleaming in the darkness of night,

He still surpasses them with it, leading,

While death watches him with a drowsy eye,

Until with their blood he is saturated,

For the flashing of swords is the dye of the knight's palm.
