1. كذا فليقُم من قامَ للّهِ بالأمرِ

    وجاهدَ فيه بالرُّدينيّةِ السُّمرِ

    Thus shall he who rose for Allah's cause

    And struggled for it with strong determination

  2. تهنَّ أميرَ المؤمنينَ بِنُصرةٍ

    أتتكَ مِن اللَهِ القديرِ على قَدرِ

    Gladden the Commander of the Faithful with victory

    Bestowed upon you by Allah, the All Powerful according to His decree

  3. أهنتَ عزيزَ المالِ في جنبِ نصرهِ

    فأعطاكَ بالتَّهوينِ عِزّاً على الدّهرِ

    You belittled the dear wealth compared to the victory

    So He gave you honor for belittling it that will last forever

  4. وجُدتَ بنفسٍ لا يُجادُ بمثلِها

    فجُوزيتَ بالنّصرِ المعجّلِ والأجرِ

    You came with a soul that has no equal

    So you were rewarded with instant victory and reward

  5. لقيتَ ملوكَ التركِ اذ جاءَ جمعُها

    نجاءً لدينِ اللَهِ بالكِبرِ والكُفرِ

    You met the kings of the Turks when their army came

    As an enemy to Allah's religion with arrogance and disbelief

  6. فللتَ ملوكاً ما تسنّى لهمّةٍ

    ملوكيّةٍ قصدٌ لعسكرِها المَجرِ

    You destroyed kings the likes of which no kingly determination has achieved

    With the aim of their armies wandering confused

  7. وقابلتهم اذ قابلوكَ بعزمةٍ

    كعزمِ رسولِ اللَهِ في عُدوتي بدرِ

    And you met them when they came to you with determination

    Like the Messenger of Allah's determination at the two battles of Badr

  8. وصُلتَ عليهم صولةً هاشميّةً

    أذاقتهُمُ كأساً أمرَّ مِن الصّبرِ

    You attacked them with a Hashimite assault

    That made them taste a bitter cup of endurance

  9. تركتهُم صرعى وأشلاءُ صيدِهم

    تُوزَّعُ بينَ النُّونِ والسِّيدِ والنّسرِ

    You left them slain, their prey scattered

    Distributed between An-nun, As-sayyid and An-nasr

  10. وحُقَّ لمن قد قامَ في نصرِ دينهِ

    بصدقِ يقينٍ أن يُؤيّدَ بالنَّصرِ

    It is right for whoever sincerely rose to defend his religion

    To be supported with victory

  11. وآكَ وليُّ الأمرِ كفءاً فزفَّها

    اليكَ تهادى حينَ أغليتَ في المهرِ

    O governor, you were a suitable match so it was brought to you

    As gifts presented when you excelled in generosity

  12. فجاءتك بكراً وانثنت وهي ثيّبٌ

    فأحسن بها في الدهر من ثيّبٍ بكر

    It came to you as a virgin and surrendered while a widow

    So treat her well for a widow is better than a virgin

  13. فيا وقعةً أهدت الى الناسِ كلّهم

    أماناً أعادَ اليُسرَ في موضعِ العُسرِ

    O battle that brought safety to all people

    Returning ease where there was hardship

  14. هنيئاً لِمن أصلى لوافحَ حرِّها

    ليأمنَ يومَ العرضِ من لَهبِ الحَرِّ

    Congratulations to those who prayed facing its heat

    To be safe on the Day of Judgement from the flames of heat

  15. فيا ليتني لو كنتُ بينَ صفوفِها

    لينبئ في الهيجاءِ عن خَبري خُبري

    I wish I was between its rows

    To relate my news in passion, news after news

  16. أجولُ وخيرُ الناس ينظرُ جرأتي

    على الصّفِّ في الأقدامِ والكرِّ والفرِّ

    I roam as the best of people watch my boldness

    On the battle line, advancing, attacking and retreating

  17. لألقى بنحري المشرفيّةَ دونهُ

    وأحطمَ صدرَ السّمهريّةِ في الصّدرِ

    I would throw my honored neck before it

    And shatter the chest of determination with my own chest

  18. أروحُ بمحمرِّ الدِّماءِ مضُرَّجاً

    لأغدو في الفِردوسِ في حُللٍ خُضرِ

    I would return drenched in the blood

    To arrive in Paradise wearing green garments

  19. وان تكُ في العمرِ المبغّضِ بقيةٌ

    أردُّ متونَ البيضِ في قُرُبٍ حُمرِ

    And if some detested life remains

    I will return the white blades to red scabbards

  20. رفعتُ الى الباب الكريمِ قصيدةً

    تنوبُ منابَ العبدِ في الحمدِ والشُّكرِ

    I have raised to you, O noble gate, a poem

    That takes the place of a slave's praise and gratitude

  21. زهت فهي سِلكُ العِقدِ تمَّ بهاؤه

    بما نظمت يُمناكَ مِن فاخرِ الدُّرِّ

    It is adorned, a necklace completed by its gems

    With what I composed praising your favors, O radiant pearls

  22. مدحتُكَ أرجو أن أن أفوزَ برتبةٍ

    يُزانُ بها شِعري ويعلو بها قدري

    I praised you hoping to attain a position

    That would balance my poetry and raise my worth

  23. والاّ فَمن جاءَ الكتابُ بمدحهِ

    لفي غنيةٍ منه عن المدحِ بالشِّعرِ

    Otherwise, the one the book came praising

    Has no need for praise through poetry
