في الجامع الأموي الحسن مجتمع

وبابه فيه للإحداق لذّاتُ

In the Umayyad Mosque beauty gathers

Its door reveals sights of delight

دقائق الحسن يحويها له درج

فحبذا منه بالساعات ساعات

Moments of beauty it contains for him stairs

Blessed therefore hours within hours with him

وحبذا معبدٌ كم أطربت أذنا

فيه من الذكر نغمات وأصوات

And blessed a shrine how it gladdens an ear

Therein hymns melodies and voices

جلا العروسّ على الرائي فطلعتها

تزفها من بدور التم طارات

The bride shone to the seer so her ascent

Takes her from houses of perfection fled
