O eye, be generous with tears

    For the noble Yemeni prince

    For the world's perfect youth

The religion's horseman and leader's sword

Do not spare tears for the perished one

Who orphaned all when he passed away

The soil of Khuzestan was blessed

As his bones nourished it with bones

    Good deeds locked their doors

And refused after you, O son of nobles

    And your horses after clashes

    Complain of long abstinence

    Take us to Malik's grave

That we may greet it with peace

    People found in his palm

    Wealth without sea or clouds

In the dawn he was like the rising sun

In the night like the full moon

A Questioner wonders at his death

    After seeing him adamant

I told him I knew him as a teacher

Striking them when darkness rises high

    One battling war will hardly

Escape the blow of a polished sword

Fate did not favor us when

It took the people's spring each year

They will never rest from missing him

As the dove's call stirs sorrow
