1. يُقَبِّلُ الأَرضَ وَيُنهي إِلى

    مالِكِهِ شِدَّةَ أَشواقِهِ

    He kisses the ground and directs

    The intensity of his longing to its owner

  2. ما غَيَّرَ البُعدُ سِوى جِسمِهِ

    وَلَم يُغَيِّر صَفوَ أَخلاقِهِ

    Distance has changed nothing but his body

    It has not changed the purity of his morals

  3. فَاِبكِ عَلى الصَبِّ الغَريبِ الَّذي

    قَد أَمسَكَ البَينُ بِأَطواقِهِ

    So cry for the lonely young man whom

    Separation has clasped by the neck
