She came to bid me farewell, overwhelmed by tears,
On the day of departure, when the camel driver called to depart.
She approached, fearful and startled,
Like a gazelle escaping from the hunter's traps.
She could not bear the spies' prying eyes to bid me farewell,
And the gloating of the slanderers saying "We told you so!"
I stood weeping as she left crying,
Walking away from me a little, then turning back.
Oh my heart, so much pain and burning!
Oh my time, so much injustice and hardship!
