1. خافَ الرَسولُ مِنَ المَلامَه

    فَكَنى بِسُعدى عَن أُمامَه

    The Messenger feared reproach

    So he hinted at Sa’diyya instead of her actual name

  2. وَأَتى يُعَرِّضُ في الحَدي

    ثِ بِرامَةٍ سُقِياً لِرامَه

    And he came to mention in hadith

    Raamah as a water-drawer for Raamah

  3. وَفَهِمتُ مِنهُ إِشارَةً

    بَعَثَ الحَبيبُ بِها عَلامَه

    And I understood from him an allusion

    That my beloved had sent as a token

  4. فَطَرِبتُ حَتّى خِلتُني

    نَشوانَ تَلعَبُ بِيَ المُدامَه

    So I was disturbed until I became

    Intoxicated, madness playing with me

  5. خُذ يا رَسولُ حُشاشَتي

    أَنا في الهَوى كَعبُ اِبنُ مامَه

    Take, O Messenger, my love messages

    For in love I am like Kab ibn Maamah

  6. وَأَعِد حَديثَكَ إِنَّهُ

    لَأَلَذُّ مِن سَجعِ الحَمامَه

    And repeat your hadith for it is

    Sweeter than the cooing of a dove

  7. بُشرايَ هَذا اليَومَ قَد

    قامَت عَلى الواشي القِيامَه

    Give me good news, for this day

    Judgement has been passed on the lover

  8. ياقادِماً مِن سَفرَةِ ال

    هَجرِ الطَويلِ لَكَ السَلامَه

    O you who comes from a journey of long

    Absence, peace be upon you

  9. وَأَقَمتَ في ذاكَ البُعا

    دِ وَطابَ فيهِ لَكَ الإِقامَه

    And you stayed in that distant place, and dwelling there

    Was pleasant for you

  10. يا مَن تَخَصَّصَ وَحدَهُ

    مَولايَ تَلزَمُكَ الغَرامَه

    O you who exclusively belongs

    To my Master, passion clings to you

  11. يا مَن يُريدُ لِيَ الهَوا

    نَ وَمَن أُريدُ لَهُ الكَرامَه

    O you who wants love for me

    And whom I want to honor

  12. مَولايَ سُلطانُ المِلا

    حِ وَلَيسَ يَكشِفُ لي ظُلامَه

    My Master, the Sultan of beauty

    And no darkness is unveiled for me

  13. عايَنتُهُ وَكَأَنَّهُ

    غُصنُ النَقا ليناً وَقامَه

    I saw him, and he was like

    A delicate, erect branch

  14. وَبِشامَةٍ في خَدِّهِ

    أَصبَحتُ في العُشّاقِ شامَه

    With a beauty mark on his cheek

    I became among lovers a Shanmah

  15. يا خَصرَهُ يا رِدفَهُ

    مَن لي بِنَجدٍ أَو تِهامَه

    O his waist, O his hips

    Who will get for me Najd or Tihama
