فَدَيْتُكَ ما أَظْهِرُ
قَليلاً لِمَا أُضْمِرُ
May I be your ransom—what I reveal
is little beside what I conceal.
وَلِي بَدَنٌ ناحِلٌ
عَلَى الْهَجْرِ لا يَصْبِرُ
I have a body grown gaunt
that cannot endure separation.
أَحاطَ بِجْسمِي الْهَوى
فَحَوْلي لَهُ عَسْكَرُ
Passion has encircled my body,
and all around me it has an army.
لِسانِي لَهُ كاتِمٌ
وَدَمْعِي لَهُ مُظْهِرُ
My tongue keeps it hidden,
but my tears reveal it.
