أَيا مَنْ تَخَبَّثَ عَيْشي بِهِ
وما طَيِّبُ العَيْشِ مِثلُ الخَبيثِ
O you who troubles my life
Nothing is sweeter than a wretched life
يُكَلِّفُني فَرْطُ وَجْدِي الهَوى
وَهَلْ في جُحُودِكَ لي مِنْ مُغِيثِ
My passion's excess burdens me
Is there any helper in your denial of me?
وَوَاللَهِ إِنَّك تَدْري بِهِ
فَلمْ ذَا تُخَدِّشُ وَجهَ الحَديثِ
By God, you know it
Why then do you tarnish the face of discourse?
