What a fine necklace for you are the vines and palm leaves,

And sunlight and moonlight the fires’ brightness.

O you whose stature puts the branches to shame,

Whose face is the moon and whose hair is the night’s darkness.

When they say the full moon resembles your beauty,

The moon itself comes to make excuses for what was said.
