He wronged me, and the wrong was from him,
And he exceeded the limit in that wrong.
A gazelle, whose glance became mine,
When he saw that my heart was his soldier.
I ransomed the one who had patience over his tyranny,
Better than my patience over losing him.
Look at him and his cheek,
And the moles settled on his cheek.
It is as if it is the dawn of union that appeared,
Under darkness from the intensity of its veil.
The sun envies him for his beauty,
Like a branch envies its twigs.
