مَرِيضُ كَرِّ الطَّرْفِ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَرَضْ
كأَنَّما قَتْلي عَلَيْهِ مُفْتَرَضْ
Languid is his gaze as it turns and returns, though no illness ails him;
As though killing me were a duty imposed upon him.
تُقْعِدُهُ أَرْدافُهُ إِذا نَهَضْ
كأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْها عِوَضْ
His buttocks make him sit whenever he rises,
As though nothing else could take their place.
