1. وَنَرْجِسٌ لِلْنَّسِيمِ مُعْتَنِقُ

    يَسْهَرُ طَبْعاً وَما بِهِ أَرَقُ

    A narcissus embracing the breeze

    Staying up by nature, not kept awake

  2. كَأَنَّهُ وَالقَوامُ مُعْتَدِلٌ

    وَفي المآقِي مِنْ عِطْرِهِ عَبَقُ

    As if it and the slender waists were equal

    And from its fragrance in the watering places, there was scent

  3. أَجْفانُ دُرٍّ عَلَى ذُرى قَصَبٍ

    تَقْطُرُ مِسْكاً وَما بِها عَرَقُ

    Eyelids of pearls upon meadow reed stems

    Exuding musk without a trace of sweat
