طالعَتْني كطُلوعِ ال
بَدْرِ في وَجْهِ الصَّباحِ
She rose before me like the moon
Rising at dawn, a morning
كَصَباحٍ تَحْتَ لَيْلٍ
وَدَعَتْني لاصْطِباحِ
Under the veil of night,
And called me to be whole.
فَأَجَبْناها بِلا مَنْ
عٍ إِلى تَرْكِ الصَّلاحِ
So we answered without restraint,
Abandoning rectitude,
وَوَصَلْناها وَمَنْ يَصْ
بِرُ عَنْ وَصْلِ المِلاحِ
And reached her, for who can refrain
From joining the salt to the sweet?
