1. يا مُمْرِضَ الجِسْمِ مِنِّي عِنْدَ صِحَّتِهِ

    هَبْ لِي عَلى طُولِ ما أَفْنى عَلَيْكَ بَقَا

    O you who cure the body when it's healthy

    Grant me, for all the life I spent on you, survival

  2. وَمَنْ تَعَشَّقَ جِسْمِي سُقْمَ ناظِرِهِ

    لَمَّا رَآهُ لِسُقْمِي فِيهِ قَدْ عَشِقا

    And whoever fell in love with my body, love-sick with its sight

    For when he saw in it my illness, he fell in love

  3. أَغْرَيْتَ بِالسُّقْمِ حَتَّى إِذْ غُرِيتُ بِهِ

    كأَنَّ سُقْمِيَ مِنْ جَفْنَيْكَ قَدْ خُلِقا

    You tempted me with illness until, tempted by it

    As though my illness was created from your eyelids
