لما تحققتَ ودِّي

أَعْقَبْتَ وَصْلاً بِصَدِّ

يا ناقِضاً كلَّ عَهْدِ

O two-faced person

O violator of every promise

لا تَنْسَ لَيْلَةَ كُنَّا

في الضَّمِّ رُوحاً لِفَرْدِ

Do not forget the night when we were

Two spirits embraced as one

وما عَلَينا رَقيبٌ

يُديلُ قُرْباً بِبُعْدِ

With no watchman observing us

Except stars that illuminated

إِلا نُجومٌ أَنارَتْ

كالدُّرِّ في لازَوَرْدِ

Like pearls on azure cloth
