وَاللَهِ ما حُلْتُ عَنِ العَهْدِ

وما جَزَيتُ الوَصْلَ بِالصَدِّ

By God, I have not broken my word,

Nor have I recompensed devotion with rejection.

كُنْ كَيفَما شِئْتَ وجُرْ في القَضا

فَإِنَّني أَطوعُ منْ عَبْدِ

Be however you wish and let fate take its course,

For I am more obedient than a slave.
