1. بَخِلْتَ بِوَقْفَةٍ أَشْكُوكَ فيها

    إِلَيْكَ وَأَيُّ عُذْرٍ لِلْبَخِيلِ

    You were stingy with a stop in which I complain to you of you

    And what excuse is there for the stingy one?

  2. وَلَمْ يَكُ في الوُقُوفِ عَلَيْكَ عَارٌ

    وَقَدْ يَقِفُ العَزِيزُ عَلَى الذَّلِيلِ

    And standing before you was no disgrace

    While the mighty may stand before the lowly

  3. أَجِرْني مُتُّ قَبْلَكَ مِنْ زَمانٍ

    رَمَاني مِنْهُ بِالخَطْبِ الجَلِيلِ

    Reward me, one who obeys you, from a time

    That has cast me with great misfortune
