ورَوضَةٍ راضَها النَّدى فَغَدَتْ
لَها مِنَ الزَّهْرِ أَنْجُمٌ زُهْرُ
A garden refreshed by the dew, it became
Adorned with flowers like twinkling stars
تَنْشُرُ فيها يَدُ الرَّبيعِ لنَا
ثوباً مِنَ الوَشْيِ حاكَهُ القَطْرُ
Spring spreads there, weaving for us
A green robe knitted by the rain
كأَنَّما انْشَقَّ مِنْ شَقائِقِها
عَلى رُباها مَطارِفٌ خُضْرُ
As if slits split from its daisies
Over their cheeks, green veils
ثُمَّ تَبَدَّتْ كأَنَّها حَدَقٌ
أَجْفانُها مِنْ دِمائِها حُمْرُ
Then it appeared as if it were an eye
Whose eyelids were red from its tears
