The foolish she-camel has come, lightning flashes by her side,
Its rain pours down in streams.
A noble she-camel, related to her uncles,
Freed with the most generous ransom of the two creations.
With a full saddle girth and bright eyes brimming over,
Her beauty makes the absent present.
The meadow offered her its greenest plants in homage,
Afraid they would fade if her radiance left.
She is not the first camel I have bought,
Nor, O Generous One, will she be the last.
How many racers have I held by the bridle,
Their hooves drumming the ground!
