طَلَعَت فَقالَ الناظِرونَ إِلى
تَصويرِها ما أَعظَمَ اللَهَ
She rose, and the onlookers said in awe of her beauty:
How great is God!
وَدَنَت فَلَمّا سَلَّمَت خَجِلَت
وَالتَفَّ بِالتُفّاحِ خَدّاها
She drew near, and when she bade farewell, grew shy,
Hiding her cheek behind an apple.
وَكَأَنَّ دِعصَ الرَملِ أَسفَلُها
وَكَأَنَّ غُصنَ البانِ أَعلاها
Her lower half seemed a sandy hill,
Her upper half a slender bough.
حَتّى إِذا ثَمِلَت بِنَشوَتِها
قَرَأَت كِتابَ الباهِ عَيناها
When she was full-grown and her breasts swelled,
Her eyes read the text of Baha.
