أَعظَمُ ذَنبي عِندَكُم وُدّي

فَلَيتَ هذا ذَنبُكُم عِندي

My greatest sin in your view is my love,

If only this sin of mine was yours too.

يا حَسرَتا أَهلِكُ وَجداً بِمَن

لا يَعرِفُ السَلوى مِنَ الوَجدِ

Alas, my longing destroys me for one

Who knows not solace from agony.
