1. بِديهَتُهُ وَفِكرَتُهُ سَواءٌ

    إِذا ما نابَهُ الخَطبُ الكَبيرُ

    His wit and wisdom are equal

    When faced with grave affairs

  2. وَأَحزَمُ ما يَكونُ الدَهرَ رَأياً

    إِذا عَيَّ المُشاوِرُ وَالمُشيرُ

    And most prudent when events unfold

    When the advisors are perplexed

  3. وَصَدرٌ فيهِ لِلهَمِّ اِتِّساعٌ

    إِذا ضاقَت بِما فيها الصُدورُ

    A heart expansive in troubles

    When other hearts are constricted
