1. جَمَعتَ أَمرَينِ ضاعَ الحَزمُ بَينَهُما

    تيهَ المُلوكِ وَأَفعالَ المَماليكِ

    You combined two matters, losing composure between them

    The confusion of kings and the deeds of slaves

  2. أَرَدتَ شُكراً بِلا بِرٍّ وَمَرزِئَةٍ

    لَقَد سَلَكتَ طَريقاً غَيرَ مَسلوكِ

    You wanted gratitude without righteousness and integrity

    Indeed, you have taken an untrodden path

  3. ظَنَنتَ عِرضَكَ لا يُرمى بِقارِعَةٍ

    وَما أراكَ عَلى حالٍ بِمَتروكِ

    You thought your honor would not be hit with calamities

    Yet I do not see you in a neglected state
