ما أجمل الصّبر والتّدبير في الطّلب

وأطيب الظفر بعد الكدّ والتّعب

How beautiful is patience and planning in pursuit

And how sweet is triumph after toil and fatigue

على الحبيب وإن طال اللّقاءُ به

فآخرُ الحزن يوما أوّل الطرب

For the beloved, even if meeting him is long

For the last of sorrow is a day that begins with joy
