دع الشّعراء في مدح وذمّ

لجلب الرّزق تضربُ في البلاد

Leave the poets to their praise and censure;

To procure their livelihood, they range through the lands.

فهم مثلُ الضّفادع أين حلّوا

ألم تر أنّهم في كلّ واد

For they are like frogs wherever they alight—

Have you not seen that they are in every valley?
