كتابٌ جامعٌ من كلّ فنّ

حكى البستان في زهو وتيه

A comprehensive book of every art

It told of the garden in bloom and wandering

لي الكناش يُنسبُ حين يُدعى

وتاريخا إذا يُعزى إليه

To me the copyist is attributed when called upon

And history when referred back to him

فيا لك جامعا في الحسن فردا

فليس لما تضمّن من شبيه

What a unique beauty you have collected

Nothing compares to what you contain

تكفّل وشي حُلّته حُسينٌ

لذاك الحسنُ مقصورٌ عليه

Taken care of and bound by Husain

For that beauty focused on him

وذاك الوشي أعجز كل حبر

حكيم من كل علم فاة فيه

That binder has exhausted every ink

Wise man of every overflowing science

فيا لك من كتاب إن نُؤرّخ

ترى من كلّ علم فاق فيه

What a book you are, when dated

You see every science surpassed in it
