وأهوى الّذي يُعلّم نفسهُ

عُلوم الجفا والصّدّ لا بشرُوحه

And the one who teaches himself

The sciences of aloofness and rejection without manuals

فليس لها شيخٌ سواهُ مُعلّمٌ

فيا لهف على نفسي من هوى شيخ رُوحه

For he has no teacher but himself instructing him

Oh how I yearn for a soul whose love is his own spirit's sheikh
