Have you not seen the son of Abi Kharzah
Claiming to love Ujab as he alleges
Yet he has nothing to show of his love
Except to caress you or have a wet dream
When he sleeps drunk with love for her
And wakes up famished and starved
What a bankrupt lover you are, my friend
A rich man in pretense and fantasy
I told him he visited her one night
That would make a donkey bleed from lust
He had but one shirt to his name
That would tell you tales of nations
So she sang and he gave her his shirt
And was left naked like one bathing
He sang on as the north wind struck him
And was left shattered by its cold
You have taken away my health
And caused my body prolonged sickness
