لما وضعت صحيفتي

في بطن كف رسولها

When I placed my letter

In the palm of its messenger’s hand,

قبلتها لتمسها

يمناك عند وصولها

I kissed it so it would touch

Your blessed right hand upon its arrival.

وتودعيني إنها

اقتربت ببعض فصولها

And you bid me farewell, for

It had drawn near to some of its destinations,

حتى ترى من وجهك

الميمون غاية سؤلها

So that it may see from your

Auspicious face the aim of its question.
