Do you call me al-Uqayshir? That is my name.
Do you call me al-Uqayshir? That is my name indeed —
And I call you “son of the woman who snuffs the lamp”—
and I call you the son of her who snuffs the lamp:
She whispers to her paramour by night, in secret,
by night she whispers with her lover, secretly,
And the Lord of mankind knows what she whispers.
and the Lord of mankind knows what she whispers.
