I roamed with the morning breeze, free and unconfined,

And the inherited traditions of corruption disgusted me.

I found the sweetest intimacy in the bareness of the nights

When melody wedded the pulsating string.

And whenever I wished, she sang for me,

When the loved ones camped at Al-Aqiq.
