I say to him while the stars of Al-Muhar
Shine like the lamps of travelers
Console, O brother of Arabia, for we have in Nejd
No other nights of rest
Do I aspire to the fragrance of Nejd’s air
Is there any fragrance after evening?
I will ask them for a house for a house
And accept less than them a neighbor for a neighbor
And I did not leave them willingly but
A decree I had no choice
Sorrows with which I have been afflicted for long
For days that have passed quickly
