لا يزهدنَّكَ في الجميلِ مقابِلٌ

حُسْنَ الصنيعةِ منك بالكُفْرِ

Don't let an ingrate make you dislike doing good.

Doing good should be its own reward, not depending on praise.

فلربما أثنَى عليكَ بفعلهِ

من لستَ تعرفُ حين لا تدري

For perhaps someone you don't even know will praise your deed

When you're unaware.

أَوَ ما سمعتَ مقالَ قائِلهمْ

اِفعلْ جميلاً وارمِ في البحرِ

Haven't you heard the saying, "Do good and throw it in the sea"?
