  1. Indeed, the island in the encircling sea possesses

    a wall and a gate, and within it lies the king’s chamber.

  2. A glass vessel in the hollow of a niche, wherein shines

    an oil lamp that dispels the pitch-black gloom.

  3. Around it stands a green lote tree that has borne

    red rubies and stretched up to the firmament.

  4. And on the island is a spring whose ground is gold—

    two forms of it are there: solid and molten.
