Beautify your enemy as much as you can, for with kindness, one may hope to reform the corrupt.

And beware of your envious ones as much as you can, for if you are heedless of them, they will not be heedless of you.

Verily the envious one, even if he sees you being friendly towards him, is more harmful to you than an openly hostile enemy.

And perhaps the enemy will be pleased when he sees good from you, so he becomes no longer stubbornly opposed.

Yet the pleasure of the envier is the loss of the blessing you were given by the Generous, the Eternal.

So be patient with the rage of the envier, for his fire throws its sparks into everlasting torment.

Or have you not seen how the fire consumes itself until it returns to cold, lifeless ashes?

It adds blessings to the envied one from his Lord’s bounty while the heart of the envious one melts away.
