الجسم منه مفرد ومركب

والماء منه مركب وبسيطُ

The body is singular and composite

And the water is composite and simple

والماء والتركيب ما في جوفه

زهر من الصبغ الكريم لقيطُ

And the water and composition within it

Is a flower of noble dye found

والجسم ذو التركيب ما فيه صبغة

منه وفيه مركز ومحيطُ

And the composite body, within it no dye

Within it and through it a center and circumference

كل المركب أولاً فتضاعف ال

تركيب حتى عاد وهو نشيطُ

Every composite was first doubled

Its composition until it returned vigorous

فامزج عبيطك بالمركب

إن الدواء مدبر وعبيطُ

So mix your lame with the composite

Indeed the medicine is wise and lame

واطبخ لتخرج دهننا من أرضه

فبصحنك الزيتون ثم سليطُ

And cook to extract our oil from its land

For in your bowl the olives and then smooth

وارفق بدهنك ينبسط لك صبغه

فيه فسرُّ علاجه التبسيطُ

And gently handle your oil, its dye expands for you
