  1. نصحنا لكم نصحاً نرجّي ثوابه

    من الله لا حمداً نريد ولا شكرا

    We counselled you with advice hoping for its reward

    From God, not seeking praise or thanks

  2. ونحن بمكنون من السر مضمر

    نناجيكم سراً ونسمعكم جهرا

    And we with hidden secrets are harboring

    Privately we confide in you, yet loudly we make ourselves heard

  3. فلا تعملوا أو تعلموا الباب كله

    ولا تستروه أو تحيطوا به خُبرا

    So do not overdo or overstudy the matter

    Nor conceal it, or over-occupy yourselves with it

  4. وإن خضتم فيه بعلم وحكمة

    فصبراً على ما بين أيديكمُ صبرا

    And if you delve into it with knowledge and wisdom

    Then patience over what lies before you, patience

  5. ولا تكثروا إلا الجميل فقدّموا

    لأنفسكم ما بين أيديكم ذخرا

    And do not overindulge, but rather do good

    Prepare for yourselves what lies before you as provision

  6. وهذا ختام القول في الحكمة التي

    بدأنا بها شكراً لخالقنا شكرا

    And this concludes the words of wisdom

    With which we began, thanks to our Creator, thanks
