حضاننا السحق فلا

تسحق دواءٌ بيدِ

Our cradle crushed so no

medicine can heal with a hand

وهو الذي قد جاءنا

من صبغنا بالولدِ

And it is He who has come to us

Who dyed us with the boy

لا يجلب الصبغ الذي

تريده من بعدِ

It does not bring the dye that

you want after that

إن الذي يصبغ لا

يزيد وزن الجسدِ

Indeed, the one who dyes does not

increase the weight of the body

لذاك قد حدّوه في

علومنا بالعددِ

Therefore they limited it in

our sciences by number

وقال قوم جهلوا ال

حكمة ذا قول ردي

And a people ignorant of

wisdom said an evil word

حكماً بلا علم مقا

لَ جاهل ذي فندِ

Judging without knowledge the saying

of an ignorant licentious one

ما خالفوا حكمتنا

لو وفقوا للرشدِ

They did not oppose our wisdom

If they had succeeded in righteousness
