A long conversation took place between Hermes and the Sun in ancient times

    He and his five brothers

And his two sisters were in his presence

Hermes was the oldest and greatest of them all

    An elderly noble man

He said to them: I have seen

And my thinking is sound and my opinion is authentic

So I don't see anyone, O Sun, more deserving

Of this kingdom, this glorious abode, than you

So we appoint you, so be kind to us

For good is hoped from one like you

And we elevate you above all today

    What I see is straightforward

And I know you will be my killer

And I will be your victim before long

The Sun, a good friend, said:

By my life, you are a good friend and companion

But if you are certain that

Being close to me will diminish your beauty

Hermes said: But I will have more offspring

And my life will be prolonged by your power

The Sun said: All are obedient

And submissive to me and your command

    Except for Orion who hates

Your rule, he is wretched and rude

    Hermes said: That estrangement

Is a shadow that will disappear, situations change

If I nurse him for a while

And treat him kindly, he will be dutiful and arrive

    The Sun said: Beware

Lest your loved ones betray you

For if you are absent from me, I will kill you

And my kingdom will suffer greatly

And I will separate you from your comrades

The bond between me and them is flimsy

Hermes said: Think well of me

For through me those disagreements will unite

The Sun said: If this is true

You will get a plentiful share from me

Otherwise, I have for all of you

    A sword and flaming fire

Hermes swore: By God, my Lord I vow

I will not waver from what I say

I will stay with you until

Your body becomes a soul, an excellent replacement

The Sun said: I too have sworn

    An oath with impartial witnesses

If your word here proves true

I will remain burdened by your body

They all said: We consent to this

We are guarantors for all we have said

Hermes said: My brothers, you all

Want to flee, what do you say?

It is in your nature to flee

And that is impossible for me

For if you make them flee from me

My offspring will have no continuity or strategy

And you will destroy my kingdom and me

And kill those brothers who depend on me

The Sun said: Act on my advice

For I am an advisor, and advice is hopefully accepted

    Lock our hive

For in it is sleep and rest

    And secure its doors tightly

    Until the way is blocked

And whoever takes charge, do not neglect me

For neglect is the origin of corruption

I will extract the spirits from my brothers

The young and old will obey me

    And make it your crown

To boast to kings and astonish minds

And elevate your reputation among past generations

That to me is little for one like you

    How excellent this council is

And how good its rulings are

I have told you all I was aware of

And my Lord suffices me, an excellent Trustee
