حجر يظهر في التد

بير منه حركات

A stone appears in the mud

In it are movements

فيه غوص وانتشار

ونفور وثبات

In it are diving and spreading

And recoiling and stillness

كان فيه الطبع حياً

قبل أن كان الوفاة

In it nature was alive

Before there was death

ثم غاص الطبع فيه

فهو في القبر رفات

Then nature in it submerged

So it is in the grave remains

ثم عند البعث لما

جمع الشمل الشتات

Then at the resurrection when

The scattered parts unite

عاد فيه مثلما كا

ن وما حلّ الممات

It returns as it was before

And death did not arrive

وبدا من مستجن ال

طبع تلك الكامنات

And from the hidden nature

Emerge those latent things

ذهب من ذهب وال

أصل فيه الثمرات

What went is gone but

The essence in it the fruits

ثمر محتجب في ال

بذر أبداه النبات

A fruit hidden in the seed

Made evident by the plant

والذي كان به المو

ت به كان الحياة

And that which held death

In it too was life
